About

PNG to PDF

Drop PNG screenshots, scans or diagrams, arrange them, and each becomes a page of one PDF with every pixel as it was. Pick A4, US Letter or the picture’s own size, add a margin if you want white round it, and save; nothing leaves your browser.

What it does

  • A 473 KB screenshot made a 458 KB PDF, and a 246 KB PNG of text a 137 KB one, with nothing blurred.
  • See-through parts stay see-through, kept as a soft mask, so the page shows white behind them.
  • Same as the picture makes each page the size its PNG says, using the resolution written in the file where there is one.
  • Auto turns each page the way its picture runs, so a wide screenshot gets a landscape page.
  • Drag the pictures into order, or sort them by file name.

How to use it

  1. Drop the PNG files on the window.
  2. Drag them into order.
  3. Pick the paper, the orientation and the margin.
  4. Save the PDF.

What it does not do

  • Searchable text from a screenshot: the page is a picture, and reading its words needs OCR, which runs on WebAssembly this site does not load.
  • A lighter file by lowering the quality: PNGs go in lossless, so save them as JPG first with the Image Compressor if the PDF must be small.

Questions

Will the PNG lose quality in the PDF?

No. Its pixels are stored losslessly, so the text in a screenshot stays as sharp as it was, at every zoom the picture allows.

What happens to a transparent PNG?

The transparency goes into the PDF with the picture, so on screen and on paper the page shows through, which is white in practice. Nothing is filled in behind it first, as saving it as a JPG would.

How do I make one PDF from several screenshots?

Drop them all at once, drag them into order and save: each screenshot becomes a page of one PDF. Same as the picture keeps every page the size of its screenshot, and A4 fits each one onto paper.

Everything here runs in your browser. Nothing you type, paste or open is uploaded, and there is no account and no queue. How that works.
