About

Delete PDF Pages

Drop a PDF and every page appears as a thumbnail: press × on each page to take out, and save what is left as a new PDF. The pages that stay are copied rather than drawn again, so their text stays searchable and their pictures keep every byte. The status line counts how many pages you removed.

What it does

  • Remove blank finds the pages with no ink on them, such as the empty backs of a two-sided scan, and takes them all out.
  • Put them back returns what Remove blank took, if it caught a page you wanted.
  • A removed page leaves an empty tile in its place, with Put back on it to return the page there.
  • The pages left can still be dragged into a new order, or turned, before saving.
  • Pages from several PDFs can be weeded together and saved as one file.

How to use it

  1. Drop the PDF on the window.
  2. Press × on each page to remove, or Remove blank for the empty ones.
  3. Check the count, then save the PDF.

What it does not do

  • Taking out part of a page, such as a paragraph or a signature: whole pages go, and what is on the pages left is not touched.
  • Typing the pages to keep: Ranges makes one PDF from each range, so to keep 1-3 and 7 in one file, remove the rest here instead.

Questions

How do I delete one page from a PDF?

Drop the PDF, press × on that page’s thumbnail and save. The other pages are copied into the new file unchanged, so nothing else about the document moves or blurs.

Can I get a deleted page back?

Before saving, yes: press Put back on the empty tile where it stood, or put every removed page back at once. After saving, the original is still on your disk, since nothing is changed in place.

How does Remove blank decide a page is empty?

Each page is drawn at 36 dpi and read for ink, leaving out its outer edge, where a scanner’s shadow, punched holes and a page number sit. Writing showing faintly through from the other side does not count, and a line of type does.

Everything here runs in your browser. Nothing you type, paste or open is uploaded, and there is no account and no queue. How that works.
