Days Between Dates
Pick two dates and the number of days between them is there at once, with the same gap in years, months and days, in weeks, and in working days. The first date counts and the last does not, as a gap is measured; tick Count the last day when both ends belong in, as for a stay or a leave.
What it does
- From 1 to 10 March is 9 days, or 10 with the last day counted, and the months and days follow suit.
- Working days leave out your weekend, Saturday and Sunday unless you pick others, and each listed holiday on a working day.
- Holidays go in one a line or separated by commas, written 2026-12-25, 25.12.2026 or 12/25/2026.
- Each day of the week is counted, so you can see how many Mondays or Saturdays the range holds.
- With times of day, the gap is also given in days, hours and minutes, and in hours alone.
- Both dates are shown with their weekday, their ISO week and their day of the year.
- The second date may be the earlier one: the count is the same, and the result says so.
How to use it
- Set From and To; From starts at today.
- Tick Count the last day if both ends count.
- For working days, pick the days of the week that count and paste the holidays.
- Copy the answer as a sentence.
What it does not do
- A country’s public holidays filled in: they differ by region and often by employer, so the list is the one you paste.
- Hours between moments in two time zones: the dates and times here belong to no place, so no clock change or offset enters the count.
Questions
Is the end date included?
Not unless you tick Count the last day. Monday to Friday is 4 days as a gap and 5 with both ends, and the working days change the same way. Hotel nights are the gap; days of leave usually count both ends.
How many days until a date?
From starts at today, so set To to the date. The count is the days left before it: a deadline on 20 March, seen from 10 March, is 10 days away.
How many working days are in a year?
Count from 1 January to 1 January of the next year. 2026 has 261 days from Monday to Friday before any holiday is taken out; paste your holidays and the count drops by each one that falls on a weekday.
Does a leap year change the count?
Only when 29 February lies between the dates: 1 February to 1 March is 29 days in 2028 and 28 in 2027. The calendar is worked out, not looked up, so it holds for any year.
